Physical activity and good conditions for practicing sports are key elements of the healthy and balanced development of the younger generation. By design, the facilities built will also be accessible to local residents as part of efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle and increase physical activity outside the home.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">School-based indoor sports facilities<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main focus of the Ministry\u2019s strategy is to improve sports infrastructure in educational institutions. It includes various <strong>funding<\/strong> options <strong>for the construction or modernization of school sports facilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The program was created in response to the current shortage of well-equipped and safe sports facilities in low- and medium-density urban areas. Thanks to this program, schools across the country can count on financial support to improve conditions for the development of young athletes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To date, as part of the Olimpia Program, work has begun on numerous projects <strong>to construct roofed<\/strong> sports and recreational facilities <strong>on school grounds<\/strong>. From the first call for grant applications for projects related to the construction of sports halls on school grounds through the first quarter of 2024, 560 projects have been launched throughout Poland.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">What are the eligibility requirements for receiving funding under the Olimpia 2023\u20132025 Program?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rules for applying for funding under the program are not complicated. First,<strong> the local government entity must meet the conditions<\/strong> set by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. These include, among other things, access to a suitable site for the project, permission to use the land for sports purposes, and adequate financial backing covering 30% of the project\u2019s implementation costs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to the issues mentioned above, the quality of the planned project is also evaluated, including its <strong>alignment with the needs of the local community<\/strong>. For projects involving the construction<strong> of school canopies<\/strong>, it is essential to develop a professional architectural concept. It must ensure the safety and comfort of the facility\u2019s users, as well as take into account environmental and energy-efficiency considerations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Resolution of the Council of Ministers on the Establishment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grimar.pl\/program-olimpia-2023-2025-program-budowy-przyszkolnych-hal-sportowych-warunki-wnioski-terminy-wysokosc-dotacji\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>the Olimpia Program<\/strong><\/a> contains very detailed guidelines regarding the construction of new facilities and the roofing of existing ones. Only three roofing options are considered:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>an arched roof, the structure of which consists of laminated wood and a membrane covering,<\/li>\n<li>an arched roof for the hall, but using a metal structure,<\/li>\n<li>a metal roof constructed using self-supporting technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Taking advantage of the program\u2019s opportunities directly contributes to <strong>the development of young athletes throughout the country<\/strong>. As a result, students will be able to actively use school facilities regardless of weather conditions, which is of great importance for maintaining the physical fitness of children and adolescents on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Construction of School Canopies \u2014 Implementation of the Program\u2019s Objectives<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All investments carried out under the program must meet the requirements set forth in the aforementioned document. Above all, they must be safe for students, which is a key aspect of the entire project. Newly constructed gyms must also be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities to prevent the exclusion of people with disabilities from public spaces.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">A sports and recreation project serving the local community<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In early 2024, the G\u0105bin Municipality announced that it had received a grant from a program to build school sports halls in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Polish national team\u2019s first appearances at the Olympic Games. <strong>The municipal government applied for funding to build a sports hall on the school grounds in the village of Czermno<\/strong>. The positive response from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism will allow for the implementation of the project, which includes the construction of a sports hall along with a safe corridor connecting the school building to <strong>the school\u2019s covered area<\/strong> \u2014a self-supporting metal structure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inside the hall, there will be restroom and locker room facilities. In addition, plans call for the installation of electrical systems and lighting, as well as an electrical connection. Plans also include the installation of a central heating system, ventilation, and plumbing. Basic sports equipment has been purchased, including a portable laser shooting range. The area surrounding the hall will be developed according to a separate design.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The construction of the facility will improve access to sports infrastructure for students and residents of the municipality. In the future, the facility will <strong>be used for physical education classes, sports activities, and safety education<\/strong>. The project will help improve the quality of sports classes and training sessions, especially during the fall and winter months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The hall will be <strong>accessible to various segments of the community<\/strong>, with accommodations for people with disabilities, including clear and functional signage accessible to people with various types of disabilities.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Construction of a school gym<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The municipality of Czemp\u0144<strong> is <\/strong>the next recipient of funding for the construction<strong> of modern school sports facilities <\/strong>. In mid-January 2024, a contract was signed for the construction of a new 13 m x 24 m multipurpose sports field at the elementary school in that town.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project involves the construction of a sports hall with a sports complex and social and locker room facilities, connected to the school building by an outdoor corridor. The hall, covered by an arched roof structure, will be located right next to the school. This facility is intended to help students realize their full potential by adapting to their needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project to build <strong>a school sports complex<\/strong> calls for the installation of a variety of sports equipment, including facilities for gymnastics, indoor soccer, basketball, and volleyball, as well as track and field equipment and four mobile laser shooting ranges. The project aims to <strong>create a comprehensive infrastructure that supports students\u2019 physical development<\/strong> and provides modern facilities for practicing a variety of sports.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The planned work includes the installation of solar panels on the roof of the existing elementary school building, as well as the installation of a central heating system and a surveillance system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Improving sports facilities in schools is extremely important for the development of young athletes. Thanks to such investments, children and teenagers have the opportunity to train in various sports regardless of the weather conditions outside.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a complex process that requires many conditions to be met. However, as a result, the local community gains access to modern sports facilities.
