Sports Turf as Specialized Surfaces

Sports fields must be highly durable, as they are typically subject to heavy use. They can consist of either natural grass or special synthetic surfaces, which are easier to maintain in good condition.

Natural grass sports fields.

Natural sports turf is a surface made using a special type of grass. It offers increased resistance to mechanical damage and, at the same time, has strong regenerative capabilities.

These surfaces are also referred to as high-traffic lawns and are ideal for use as playing surfaces on soccer fields, golf courses, and grass tennis courts. However, natural sports turf requires proper maintenance and fertilization, which entails additional costs.

Artificial turf sports fields.

Synthetic-fiber sports turf comes in the form of rolls that are unrolled and secured to a previously prepared surface. Artificial sports turf must be made of the right type of fibers—ones that are not too hard, yet remain highly flexible and resistant to heavy use. Synthetic sports turf is convenient to use because it does not require intensive maintenance.

Hybrid Sports Turf

There are also hybrid sports turf systems that combine a natural system with a ready-made solution in the form of special base mats. This results in a ready-to-use surface composed of artificial turf and natural grass, installed on special substrates, such as rolls. This type of turf is unrolled onto a previously prepared subbase, to which it then naturally bonds through the root systems of the grass sown on it.

This type of grass is much more durable than traditional lawns, and at the same time, it doesn’t get as hot as synthetic turf and doesn’t generate dust during heavy use. This solution allows you to create a sports turf that is not only extremely safe to use but also durable and easy to maintain.
